Earning EMT certification; volunteered with the National Peerevention Center
At MCC in Mesa; taught language module at Idyllwild, CA for Wycliffe orientation;
(In spare weekends, went rappelling with family and friends at Papago Park);
Completed licensing as an EMT; Made 4 deputation trips around the USA;
And…lived in 5 different houses during our stay in Arizona.

Returned to PNG January 1998
Bought Davies language quarters house, and lived in 4 different houses before we completed the remodeling and moved in June 1998. Kurt moved in with us in October 1998, utilizing the flat we built into the house.
Continued doing consultant training, teaching Translation Principles at CLTC
(Christian Leaders Training College in Banz, WHP), and doing consultant checking
for SIL teams on the center. Began teaching basic Greek to BTA men training as
translation consultants. 1998-June 2000
Held Translation/ Scripture Use and Counseling workshops in Wanigela (1999)
Village with a team of 8 people from SIL/BTA
Returned the following year (2000) to do more workshops in Wanigela/ Itokama

Returned to the USA for Michael and Kris Sobieski’s Wedding at Grace Com Ch.

Returned to PNG February 2000- stayed 6 months consulting & teaching NTC.

Furlough: primarily for Kurt and Melinda Reeher’s Wedding Sept. 2000 in Ca.

Returned to PNG January 2001 to continue teaching, consulting and training. 2001-2003

Furlough: June 2003 Visiting supporters across the USA. Lived with Sobieski’s, at Culy’s for a month, then at Tom Cox’s Mother’s house until we returned to PNG.

Returned to PNG June 2004. Got involved in several projects and did some translation checking for SIL and BTA teams. Then we got a call two months later from Kris about her upcoming operation to removed a nerve sheath tumor.

Returned to USA for Kris Operation: Aug.27, 2004 Lived with Kris and Michael, took care of the children; looked after Kris until she was well enough to be up on her own. Stayed there until early January 2005, when I entered Mesa General for a rotator cuff repair. The following week, Mom (Lorraine Scorza) had a heart attack and entered the same hospital. She was stabilized and sent home 10 days later; this was to be repeated twice more until the medical personnel got all the water out of her lungs. She made a slow recovery; In July I visited a urologist team and had stones removed from my bladder
And eventually had a prostate operation end of August, 2005. After a couple of infections, I was cleared for travel back to PNG.

October 2005 Returned to PNG Checked the book of Genesis for a Milne Bay team, then flew out to Manus Island (January 20-8 February 2006)to check Genesis for the Nali Team (BTA & SIL team). During this time started translating the book “Healing the Wounds of Trauma” into PNG Tok Pisin. This project was completed in the first week of April 2006.

This catches us up to date on everything major that occurred from our arrival in 1967 until the present day (April 2006)
